# Trade SMR Layer 1 Tokens with IOTA **Shimmer Layer 1 tokens may include but are not limited to: SMR, SOON, FEE, etc. We will use SMR as an example here, but operations for all Layer 1 tokens will be exactly the same.** ## Video Tutorial: {% embed url="" %} ## If you prefer to read: ### **Four Steps**** are needed:** 1. [ **Pay**](#step-4-pay)**.** **Please follow them step by step.** ### **STEP 1: Connet to Iotabee with you Tanglepay Wallet** * Only Tanglepay Wallet is supported for now to trade SMR L1 tokens with IOTA. * Connect your Tanglepay wallet through the top-right corner. You need to enter your password in the pop-up window and sign in to confirm the connection * If connected correctly, you shall be able to see your SMR or IOTA balance accordingly in the Tanglepay web extension and your iotabee profile in the top-right corner. ### **STEP 2: Select token, amount, and slippage.** * Select the token and swap amount. When you input one side of the swap amount, the amount for the other side will be automatically calculated based on the current price. * The slippage is set to 0.5% by default. You can adjust it by clicking the "Setting" icon on the top right of your swap window. * If the slippage is too low, your transaction may fail; if it is too high, you may end up trading at an undesirable price. So we recommend you use the default setting. ### **STEP 3: Check all the transaction information, and confirm** * Make sure you are swapping to the **correct wallet address** before you confirm! Doublechecking is always prefered! ### **STEP 4: Pay** * Enter your password in the pop-up window of Tanglepay and pay. \ 🥳You’re all set! Now you can check the transaction details in "Recent transactions".
